Welcome New Chaplains!

Pastor Bill Miller has a background of teaching (17 years as a music and choral teacher at New London-Spicer Schools), a lay pastor at Peace Lutheran in New London, and six and-a-half years as an ordained pastor at Kerkhoven Lutheran, before coming to Bethesda as a co-chaplain. Bill is married with three adult children, all married, and has three and-a-half grand kids. He is excited and honored to share ministry with so many tremendous staff people who have a heart for the people at Bethesda!

 

Pastor Mary Hovland has a background of ministry and nursing. She grew up in Alexandria, MN and graduated from the U of M with a BS in Nursing. She was ordained in 1996 and her first call was for Maynard Wang Lutheran Parish in Maynard, MN. She has three adult children, all married, and has seven grandchildren (five in college and two who attend Willmar High School). Pastor Mary served as an ordained pastor at Vinje Lutheran in Willmar before coming to Bethesda as a co-chaplain. She is excited to be a part of the chaplaincy department and is looking forward to meeting residents, staff, families and friends of Bethesda and providing spiritual care alongside Pastor Bill.
