West Central Dementia Awareness Network is offering a free session: Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia. Participants will discuss how Alzheimer’s affects how the brain works. Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia are not a normal part of aging. This program will compare dementia and Alzheimer’s, as well as age-related vs. problematic changes. Discussion also will include how Alzheimer’s affects the brain, major risk factors for dementia, stages of the disease, treatment and much more. No registration is required. Everyone is welcome. This session takes place at the Willmar Public Library, upstairs conference room.
