On any given day, you will find up to 36 people recuperating at Bethesda’s new short-stay therapy center – a place where they will relax, rehab and recover from a surgery or acute illness while receiving round the clock nursing care and physical, occupational and/or speech therapy services.
The new 36-bed short-stay therapy center at Bethesda, now being constructed on Willmar Avenue SE, will be complete next spring. The $6 million building will be directly attached to Club Bethesda, a wellness center for those 50 years of age and better, providing access to the Club’s warm water therapy pool and state of the art therapy equipment. “Short-stay and outpatient therapy clients will enjoy a spa like atmosphere with professional, friendly and compassionate staff that really care about the people they serve on a daily basis.” stated Stefanie Ryan, Bethesda Development Director.
“The staff at Bethesda really care about me as a person. They were kind and accommodating but also made sure I did my therapy and kept up a positive attitude.” shared Sara, a recent short-stay therapy client. “My favorite rehab activity was using the pool for water therapy. What a wonderful feature to have right here in Willmar!”
For nearly two decades Bethesda has been leading the way and providing therapy services on their current Pleasant View and Heritage Center campuses. Individualized care is provided with compassion and a friendly therapeutic approach with a goal of helping clients achieve their highest possible level of function and comfort in the shortest time possible. “By keeping seniors active, healthy and engaged, we help them live life to its fullest,” stated Melissa Wentzel, Wellness Director at Bethesda.
Once clients have completed their inpatient rehabilitation at the therapy center, they will have the opportunity to continue care with the same team of professionals through Bethesda’s outpatient therapy or home health care programs. Individuals age 50 years or older will also have the option to join the Club Bethesda wellness center. Whatever service clients decide to choose, Bethesda is there for you as you get well, go home and stay well through a full continuum of care.
