With excitement, joy and a few golden sledge hammers, our Bethesda community and construction partners embarked on a journey towards a facility transformation today.
With the current dining room space filled with residents, tenants, staff and partners we commenced our journey with a short presentation and a prayer given by our chaplains.
“We could not be more excited than to begin this project! A project that is designed to enhance our ability to create meaningful relationships within our internal community and with those who live outside of our walls too,” said Ashley Bormann, campus administrator. “This Town Center project offers spaces to enhance our relationships with each other – in the new Norling Family Cafe and Bistro, with ourselves in the new life enrichment and education spaces, with our families in the new children play area and most importantly with our faith in the new Charles and Sharon Olson Chapel.”
Our chaplains partnered prayer concluded our commemorative moment by rooting our project in faith.

Chaplain’s Commencement Message:
Reading from Proverbs 24:3-4
By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.
Thank you, Lord, for your continuing presence. You have guided us and walked with us through the Bethesda Grand Building Project and we give thanks for the many ways we are able to care for people because of our new neighborhoods. Be with us on this next part of the journey as we begin construction on the Town Center.
Creator, God of Vision, you already can see the works of your heart, soul, and mind taking place as we begin construction today. Thank you for sharing your vision with us. Help us to see this Town Center through your eyes and all it will become.
Encouraging God, you continually comfort and encourage us. Continue to empower us to care for residents, families, and staff during the construction. When we become frustrated with change, with lack of convenience, give us patience. Keep our eyes focused on care for those whom you have sacredly placed in our hands.
We pray for the safety of the construction workers, our staff, and our residents especially during this time of construction.
Help us to keep our focus on you, listen to you in the midst of noise and racket, the dirt and dust of construction, and carry out the care you set before us during these changes..
In your name we pray the prayer you taught us to pray:
