Our commitment in Recreation Services is to promote a sense of purpose, engagement and a social environment.
Quality of life is something we all seek at every age and in every stage of our life. Residents in long-term care come with their personal history, talents, potential needs and dreams. Our Recreation Services staff treasure the history, respect the talents, and enable the potential of each of our residents.
Our staff plan and lead activity programs that meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, community, spiritual and social needs of our residents. Our goal is to provide a wide range of recreation for both large and small groups. The staff also provide individualized programming for special populations and interests. All programming is conducted in an atmosphere of warmth, success, encouragement and joy.
The Recreation Services Department creates opportunities for our residents to give, as well as receive, care by promoting their participation in the daily round of activities. Many recreation services are offered that give the resident a sense of self-worth and meaning. Some of these activities include gardening, baking, folding towels, peeling potatoes or shucking corn.
Other responsibilities of the department include documentation, calendar planning, coordinating social events, and working closely with the director in planning daily, weekly and monthly programs.
