Club Bethesda is honored to have been awarded the $1,500 Flamestarter Grant from the Willmar Area Community Foundation at the 2017 Award in Philanthropy Celebration on October 12th. This grant will allow Club Bethesda to purchase 10 new Aqua Steps to add a new water step aerobics class for our Club members.
Club Bethesda strives to stay on top of the latest fitness trends by providing innovative programs for our seniors. Step aerobics is a very popular class, but because many of our Club members worry about balance issues and cannot handle stress on their joints, we will be taking this class to the water in our warm water therapy pool! This class is very similar to the land version but without the address stress on joints. It also incorporates the benefit of resistance coming from all sides.
About Club Bethesda:
Club Bethesda is designed to meet the needs of adults 50 years of age and better. The Club is equipped with state-of-the-art exercise machines that are specifically geared towards older adults. The warm water pool is ideal for individuals with chronic pain issues such as arthritis or joint pain. In addition to serving Bethesda’s residents, tenants and clients, Club Bethesda is available to members of the greater Willmar community.
About the Willmar Area Community Foundation:
The Willmar Area Community Foundation (WACF) started in 1998 to foster charitable giving opportunities in the region and better meet the needs of the greater Willmar community. Today, they work to attract and distribute charitable funds in ways that inspire our community and enhance the quality of life for residents in the Willmar area.
Thank you, Willmar Area Community Foundation, for helping our senior population remain healthy and independent as they age through exercise programming at Club Bethesda!
